Missing the coin holder

After searching...first through the truck, then through the manual...I found where a coin holder could/should be located...in the center fold-down section of the front seat. I spoke with the guys at the dealership and, after extensive research, they tell me that the slide in coin holder is no longer available...not from any of their factory or accessory contacts. None of the new trucks in the lot, not even the Laramies, have coin holders.
Has anyone else run into this? The ash tray isn't the best of locations for the driver to access loose coins. Any ideas how to come up with a coin holder other than to start visiting the scrap yards?

Go to a dealership, pop the center console open and grab you a new one

Nah, just kidding, but yeah, they should be all over junkyards, etc...

That should save Chrysler $0.45 on every truck.

It's not great news but it is a double edged sword. The part is still available through any dealer. Chrysler corp has hundreds. As of 3/12/07 Chrysler is no longer supplying these as stock items. Part # is 5080638 AA and MSRP is over $50. I assure you I am correct and just as dumbfounded if not more than anyone.

Call 1-800-272-7644 or 1-405-737-3700. I called them today and they said that they can get them. Now the bad news, They are $63.00 for something that holds approx. $2.00. Good luck

when I bought my 07. I parked it beside my 04 to see if anything was different. And I noticed the coin holder as well. I put it in new truck witch didnt come with either. The other thing was the powered rear view mirror. Looked into taking it out but too much work

I use my fold down console for a coin holder. Open the lid, toss it in.

Sorry but this coin holder thing is TOO FUNNY. I cannot believe that Dodge did away with them, isn't it one of the MOST IMPORTANT selling features?

I don't even use mine, have some coin in it just in case I need it, but to me it is a PITA where it is located. I found a round tupperware type container that fits in the lower console cup holder, keep change in it. The console cupholders are totally useless with the 6-speed, excellent place for change or anything but a beverage.

A big +1 on that. I really wish the Cup Smoothie from Geno's was available in a light grey to match the new interiors. Hell, i might just put one in anyway and deal with it being black so i finally have a place to put a bottle of water that doesn't hit my shifter in 2nd, 4th, and 6th gears...
