Mirror Assembly Replacement?

Mirror Assembly Replacement?
Well I managed to destroy my driver's side mirror assembly. I ordered a new one and it should be here any day. My question is is there any tricks to getting the interior panel off to gain access to the three bolts that hold the mirror on the door? I see the one screw, so I guess one would just pull up on the panel to release it from the window channel?
Any tips or advice would be appreciated!

ce ive always taken the screw out the cover pulls back a little get a 10 mm 1/4 socket ,ratchet ,and 10mm wrench you should be able to get all screws with out taking off door panel . make sure you have window down when last nut comes off hold up and give a little pull then you can get to wires then just reverse good luck jeff

There are two large screws and two small screws along the bottom of the panel. Also there is a torx head bolt that holds the handle to get out. Once these bolts and screws are out, the panel simply lifts up. No more silly push pins to pry off.

The above mentioned method is easier to get the mirror off. That way if you drop a nut you can simply just reach in the door and get it. The door panel can be off in under two minutes if you have the right tools at hand.

I just took out the screw on the triangle portion of the door and then unscrewed my door lock pin. With the lock pin off and the truck locked you can pull the door panel back and stick a soda bottle or something in there to keep it back. I had plenty of room to swap my mirrors out when I did that

Thanks for all the replies, doesn't sound to bad after all. Mirror is supposed to be here tomorrow, but will have to wait until Sunday. I let a good friend borrow it and my trailer to haul his K5 to south Texas to go wheeling.
