Megacab not moving

I got a quote for a short bed dually MC and it was only 1K more then my 04 Quad and it had the power sun roof and rear power slider.
My dealer has not yet received a full load diesel MC. I want to see what the interior is like.
As soon as I can, I will order a long bed dually MC. I know they are getting close. I would pass on the sun roof and power rear slider. Thats almost 1K!
Scotty
p.s. I bet its higher for the Aisin auto, 6.7 liter and the long bed though.
rrrrrrrrip LOL

A friend of mine came over with his new MC dually, and I have to say it is a sweet truck, the more I see them the more I like them. I myself ordered a QC dually but only because of price and the fact I can save my box cover and running boards. I myself hate long boxes, I don't need to carry things in my box that is what I have a stock trailer for, or the flatbed. I had a short box 3/4 ton before my dually and I had no problums with that and my trailers. I think the MC will sell better when the price comes down a little more.

I personally have sold 6 of them. 2 1500's, 1 2500 diesel, 2 3500 srw's, and a 3500drw. Trucks sales in general have been off the last few months. Fuel prices are up, the econony is kinda soft, and some of these things are over 50g's. Things have been speeding up the last week or so and heavy truck sales are starting to break loose again, I think we will start movng some mega cabs come summer when people are thinking about going to the lake with their boat or hitting the roud with the camper.

I tend to agree with the high price aspect of the MC's not selling. The dealer thats about 2 miles from my house had 11 MC diesels on the lot the last I checked. The lowest sticker price out of those 11 was $49k. Now the dealer is trying to talk the city into a getting a tax break..., talk about pricing yourself out of business.
On the other hand, the MC's have grown on me and I've started to get the itch so who know what might happen.

Bed is too short - - and the fuel mileage is still poor.
Right now I do not think there is an excellent 1 ton diesel pickup on the market. All of them have problems of some sort.

If DC would have just made the cab the size of a superduty and offered a longbox and shortbox they would have sold a ton more. instead they tried to blow ford outa of the water with this huge cab. its gonna take alot more than that to out do ford so easily. the biggest problem is that it only caters to handfull of people and doesnt give the consumers a choice of short or long box or even a dually at first introductin. I sometimes wonder what the heck those guys are thinking sometimes........................they pretty much force you to buy a longbed length truck with a shortbed. alot of people buy shortbeds because they are easier to park and turn and they look better in my opinion. wity the megacab you are stuck with a superlong truck period.............

I have to disagree. Relative to 3/4 and 1 ton trucks, my opinion is the fuel mileage is great. I drove from the SEMA show in Indy to Omaha last night (620 miles) on 35 gallons of fuel at 72-75mph. I think that's pretty good considering I am probably right at 8000lbs wet and I had a luggage box on top of the topper.
And for those of you that think I need an 8ft bed if I am carrying a luggage box. That's not the case. I work for a company that makes car and truck accessories, including luggage boxes, and I was taking it home from the display we had at SEMA.
Bed size..that's just personal preference and what one needs for space.
