Thanks all! I'll be taking the center dash apart to see if the wiring or even the light are still there. I'm still gonna install the green LEDs I bought

No...I thought so at first, but I checked my 02 with the flip down cup holder, it isn't a catch or even related to the cup holder at all.

That hole is where the release handle latches I believe...
Are the new drop down cup holders different? My 02 has the drop down cup holder and it has the cut out hole, but nothing aligns with the hole. Mine is the push in on compartment and it releases almost pneumatic-like.

1. I have the lighted vanity mirrors - no cupholder light.
2. That clunking/wicked thud - mine does that too.
3. Isn't the stereo control switch on the steering wheel supposed to come with the am/fm/6cd/nav units? I don't have that either.

Yea, I don't have anything to fold down/up. My cup holder/consol area is a mish mash of cubbies and finger gripped round holes

I must have the base"est" interior package with carpet.

When i had mine apart to install a stereo i don't remember seeing any wires for a light in there, but i would like to have a light there for sure. I may just take another look in there since it is so easy to take the consol apart.

Mine didn't make any noise, it was just not operating properly causing poor air flow. Seems better now, but not as good as my 2000 was.
