Maybe 2005 in my future!!!
I maybe purchasing a new 2005 Dodge 2500 auto. Diesel of course!!! It looks like I would be getting a ripping deal. 2005 Dodge short bed, auto 48re. HO diesel, with Laramie package, my price $35766. Does this sound like a pretty good deal??
How is the gas mileage, any major or minor issues with this truck? I hope there isn't any issues.
Any information or options would be great.

That sounds like invoice for a 4x4. It won't get much better than that unless you could get a rebate as well.
Gas mileage? Your fuel mileage may not be as much as you want it to be, between 10-15 mpg.

Would it be better to look for the 6 speed? If so which one the std 6 speed or the heavy duty?
What would be a good price for a auto? and 6 speed in the laramie pkg?

Sounds likes it's below invoice (including rebates) if it's a 4wd...does it have the tow pkg, anti-spin diff, & tow mirrors?
I got the Laramie J (manual shift 4x4, delete infinity 7 speaker system, deduct adjustable petals) for right close to $35,000. I did get the 5.9 CTD, 48RE, 4x4, Tow pkg, Tow mirrors, Protection Pkg, Eng block heater, Anti-Spin diff, Sport Pkg, and the factory bed liner (which is awesome BTW). That was 1% below invoice (supplier deal through work + getting the $2500 in rebates). Sticker was $43,308
Hope that helps...

What rear axle? You should average about 20 mpg empty on the hwy if you keep it around 60-65. Mine gets 13 mpg in town....BUT, this is very short trips several times per day/week. The wife drives it back and forth to work, about 1.5 miles each way.
Truck is a 2x4, which will improve your mileage over a 4x4.
As far as prices, go to KBB or edmunds or nada and you can get invoice prices. It is hard to tell if your getting a good deal as there are many variables (front hood protection, rear window defrost, side-moldings, tow pkg, steel wheels, aluminum wheels, raised white letter tires vs blackwall, heated seats, etc, etc).
You should be able to buy at invoice, minus any DC rebates AND dont forget the Farm Bureau rebate.

I just got offered a 2005 for 34,500 last night. Any color or any bed withlaramie H pkg, auto, 4x4. The gear is probably 3.73's. The place is up in Denver, so I will probably heading up there on Friday my next day off.
Hopefully the internet sale person is right with all the stuff included with the truck. If not they will not touch a dime of my money.
Thanks for all the information.
