I really think the 2003 7.3 will be talked about like the 1998 12V. A 2003 7.3 will bring top dollar for years to come.

When you really get sick of the Ram call me!

If you have a ton of white smoke and the engine is missing on start up, you need to find a different service department because you have a bad injector.

I had a 05 Ford with a 6.0, it was in the shop 5 times and they still couldn't figure out what was wrong with it so at 44000 miles I traded it in on a Dodge.
I now have 66000 miles on the Dodge pulling a 35' gooseneck with no problems.

I had a 97' crew cab 7.3 powerstroke 4x4. I bought it used with 35,000 on it. Great truck until 75,000!!! Then all hell broke loose, turbo burned up, smoked the clutch and needed a new dual mass flywheel, put a whole new front suspension in it, and allot of other nickel and dime stuff. When I sold it, it had 93,000 on it the 4th set of tires and it was leaking diesel fuel. I spent about $8,000 on it in a 2year period.
My wife's uncle has a 99' 7.3 powerstroke 4x4 with a 6 speed. He has 275,000 on it and has put 5 or 6 clutches in, two sets of injectors,a tranny and a lot of other repairs.
My mother in-law has a 00' powerstoke 4x4 she is now on her 5th auto tranny.
My Buddy has a 2001 Powerstroke 4X4 w/ 6 speed, has blown a clutch, EGT''s is always too hot running at the limit or higher going up hill,
His wife has a 2004 Excursion 4X4 powerstroke that only gets 12miles to the gallon or less when not on the highway
Basically thats why we've bought 2 Dodge 4x4's in the last 2 years and haven't had any problems........we are always using the Dually to haul Heavy 12-15,000lb loads up the hill to Reno and have never even got close to heating anything up, the top temp has been 785 (post turbo) and thats running at 65-70miles an hour getting 12.5 miles to the gallon...........Now flat land we get 15miles to the gallon with a load and run about 550-650temp depending on the speed and exceleration
with no load we get up to 20miles to the gallon and it has a 5speed w/ 410gears

Seeing as how Ford sells bazillions of trucks every year, you should be able to find the truck you are looking for.

Surely, there had to be at least SOME Ford buyers smart enough not to trust FoMoCo with a new engine in 2003
