Not a huge difference in looks. Only drops the rear about 1.5" measured at the back bumper.

My truck is about 1.5" too high for my trailer. I can hook it up but the front of the trailer always sits a little higher than the rear. I may get a wild hair up my tailside and do this mod......

....or, if it's a bumper pull, just buy a drop hitch...

anyone do this lowering by moving the "blocks" to the top of the springs on a 2wd? do you have to put the blocks on top of the springs to reuse the stock ubolts? thanks for any info

To all.... I have a 2WD DRW and I would love to lower the rear to level out the ride.... Mine of course is different from the 4WD... Anybody have a clue how I can lower the rear on mine?

I think you can take out the overloads but you'd want to research that. I almost bought a 2wd DRW Mega and was going to do this.... But forgot the in's and outs now.

I already have two drop hitches. Both of them are a bit too high. I'm not buying another one....

Wasn't there a post about switching from the 4x4 spacer blocks to the 2wd version spacer blocks to drop the rear end of a 4x4 truck about 2 inches posted here on DTR about two months ago? I thought I read the post some time back........I can't remember......anybody recall this?
It seems like you needed new ubolts and you where good to go.

As I've posted on this thread already, this procedure is how it's done. 2wd/4wd, exactly the same. And no, you don't HAVE to buy either center bolts or U bolts. IF you can get the old ones out. I did my truck when it was still fairly new, so was able to reuse all. There was a big thread here a while back about reusing them. Doom sayers were telling us all to NEVER reuse that stuff. Others say they do it all the time. Your choice.

That's a good writeup you guys should really read it. I like this idea better than changing the front. I don't have death wobble and don't want to risk causing it.
