lowering rear of 06

I neen to lower the back of my truck to help level my goose neck. if i raise the truck and put it on blocks can i then losen the u bolts a little so the rear end will drop down an then slide one or two spacers out, with out taking the u bolts all the way off.the threads on my u bolts are long enough so i dont have to put the spacers back on top of the springs.

It doesn't hurt to put them on top. You might want to reinstall them when you go to sell the truck.

I removed my leveling kit and lowered rear on mine by swapping the two spacers from bottom to top. Used this link for the process.

Ditto! I done the same except mine was still the stock front end to start with and yes just put the spacers on top side as mentioned you might want to return it to orginial stock height someday and you will know where they are.

EDIT: Just for the record Matt400 over on the TDR was the first to do this rear end lowering procedure that I remember, that's were I picked up the mod, klenger done a good walk through with pics though.

Seems like I remember that you have to take the u bolts off to get to the spring center bolts. The center bolts go thru the spacer blocks so they have to come out. Look at the Klenger writeup on how to do it.

www.klenger.net/dodge

Lots of good info there. The slide show on lowering the rear is under 3rd gen reference.
