If one more of those sales lot punks asks me if I can write a check today I'm gonna lose it. Ca has got to have the worst sales manners of anywhere I've been. And nobody knows squat or seems to care about our trucks at the local dealer. They brag about selling 27 03 trucks so far. Dave Smith Dodge in Idaho sold 900 last month and I see why after calling them. They have my order.
Phil

Re:Lousy Marketing for new Ram 2500
Back when I was shopping around, I requested quotes online from various dealers and then corresponded with several via email. I actually got the hard sell routine from one guy by way of email. He gave me the "this deal is only good til Friday", "can we do this tonight?", "give me the go ahead to order". All the while he refused to give me a price breakdown or invoice details just a price which I never did ascertain as to whether it included all charges and fees. He even tracked down my home phone number when I had specifically told him that for now I was only gathering info online. After he called me at home I informed him I'd be buying elsewhere.

I just figure they are waiting to see how the 48re shakes out before they publish anything nation wide. Will it have exhaust brake or not, etc.. Right now they can send that computer generated junk (I got mine and wasn't impressed, my home computer does a better job) without having to recall it if things go sour with the auto.

My2cents

I also spent September - December on the web sites (Dodge, Ford & Chevy) looking at all the different comments about the products, stoping at dealers from Wisconsin to Texas and also the email route for price quotes from several dealers. But as I replied before the end result was with my small town local dealer who had all the information on the 2500 HO, 48RE auto and ended up with the same price as the big dealers without the travel and out of state buying, could call it pure luck but I have a smile on my face.
