Lousy A/C on startup
I (and others) have been noticing that the A/C performance is lousy when the truck first starts up (before it gets moving). It gets colder when it moves (logical since air flows thru the condensor), but other vehicles I have owned and currently own work better even when first started and idling.
I know that there was some problem addressed by a TSB on earlier 3rd gens. Is that applicable to the 04.5s as well? Mine is an 03/04 build if that matters.
Thanks,
Neil

Wait till winter...my defroster takes about 15 minutes to clear the windshield!
If it makes you feel better, my a/c is the same as yours.
Anyone know of a way to fix the defroster and the a/c???

Try a search... this subject was all over the place earlier this summer. I think I recall a few guys with newer (04.5's) getting this fixed with the TSB.

The TSB only applies to trucks with certain serial #'s. (Not Mine! ) When I told my service dept. about the poor air at idle, they checked it and said it's within "normal perameters". "Besides", they said, "we don't get that much really hot weather around here." Can you believe that attitude?? I can understand them not being able to do anything since Dodge has not supplied a fix, but this is a $50000 (Canadian) truck! PMO!
