Question Lots of rear window (door and slider...) fogging...

Anyone else have alot of this in snowy ~30 degree weather?

It's a Quad cab.

I was thinking maybe the rear never gets quite as warm as the front, or is it just me?

DT.

It's quite normal. I just run the fan on a higher setting than normal to get more air circulation in the cab.

What you are experiencing is the direct result of Dodge taking the cheap way out and not putting any air vents in the rear cab area like everyone else does.

That was an issue I really lost sleep over.....When I ordered my truck, I wanted a long bed but couldn't decide if I wanted a sliding rear window or the rear window defroster. In the end, I chose the rear window defroster and haven't regretted it yet. I will say that had I bought a short bed, I would have definitely gone for the slider.

Even though I have a short bed I would have gone for the defroster had I ordered the truck instead of buying it off the lot, so I had no choice.

And I would have gone for the defroster for ice more than fog, but it probably doesn't get that cold very often in your area.

That said, the fogging isn't that bad. At it's worst I still have no problem seeing through any of the windows. It's never covers the entire window(s).

The air died in the old Taurus and to get it fixed costs more than it's worth, so we do without. Until the cab heats up it helps to crack the driver's window, and if a few people are in the car to also crack a rear window. If a bunch of people get in when it's close to freezing it'll take awhile to clear the windows, so I keep a small squeege in the front for the windshield, and another for the passengers to clear the windows as needed.

The defroster in the truck works well, but it does take about a mile to get some warm air going so cracking the window helps from time to time.
