I suppose they're okay for a 2WD truck operated in Phoenix, Tucson, or some other desert locale, but they're really not very good for anywhere else.
I liked my Rugged Trails.

I thought they were okay too, until I replaced them with BFG A/Ts and realized I didn't need to engage 4wd to drive up a wet grassy hill. I thought the BFG A/Ts (load range D) were pretty good, until I replaced them with Firestone A/T (load range E) and realized my truck didn't have to wander all over the road like the village drunk heading home from the pub, and 30K miles wasn't the max treadlife of an A/T tire.

Truth be told, for almost everything that 90% of folks do with their truck, the stock tires works fine. It's that other 10% of people who find the shortcomings of the stockers and have to look for alternatives.

Thanks for all the info guys. I just came back from my first tow with the truck....PA to NC for a race. It pulled great!...unfortunately my luck at the track was not so good. I thru a rod out the block and tagged the guardrail...Back to the tires..I currently have the BFG Rugged Trails...but I think the Nitto's will get the nod. I can get them for $156 which seems like a decent deal for a 265-70-17/10...I hope they are decent in the snow. We don't get much..but the hills are the issue.

had the rugged trails... thought they were ok untill i bought the goodyear silent armor progrades. They are incredible compaired to the bfgs. Snow especially, but packed dirt and rain too. Only downside i can find is the wear. about 40,000 miles and i think i can finish the winter with them (posibly 45,000 miles) which is good for these trucks, but the bfgs could last almost twice that! Thats the only thing they did good.
