Looking for Replacement Wiring #56051263AA
I have been having issues with my trailer not getting power on the bumper. With some investigating I have come to the conclusion that the wire that plugs in by the left front fender and runs back to the rear of the truck is messed up. I have not looked into more than that, I am guessing the wire is cut or something like that and hoping I can repair it myself. If not I will have to buy another one. The dealer wants $479 for the entire wiring unit. I think this is outrageous. Does anyone know anywhere that sells these things cheaper or off of wrecked trucks or something. Like I stated above the part number is #56051263AA and the official mopar name is the rear chassis wiring. It is for an 03 3500 dually four door, with the factory tow package.

I had the same problem and it ended up being that the whole fuse block had to be replaced. Are you sure it is the wiring and not the fuse block. Use the search and you should find a couple of threads about it. if need anything else let me know.

The reason I believe its that is because I have power coming off the connector by the left front fender and not on the bumper plug. What exactly was wrong with your fuse box that made you have to replace it.

not sure exactly but it was some kind of internal failure. A built in relay maybe. There are several people that have had the problem and I believe that it was said what exactly the problem was but there was no known way to repair it.

I went back to my local dealer again and he gave me some info and wirng diagrams that will hopefully help. He said if the wire running to the rear of the truck is okay it is probably the Intergrated Control Module, which is on the bottom side of the fuse box. He instructed me to unbolt the fuse box and flip it over and find where the wire for the trailer hookup comes out of the IPM. If I turn the signal on and their is no power that is my issue. Does this sound like the way to find the issues that I am having or do I need to look somewhere else.

I took the wire off the truck and it all looks okay, from what my local dealer is saying I think it's the fuse box and the intergrated control module, which is all in the same thing.

I have the same problems. My whole fuse block was replaced once under warranty. Now it is shot again. I just bought a Tow harness off of ebay. Mopar Part Number 1-82207253. Looks like I am going to have to do some splicing and soldering to make it work as it is not a direct replacement for the harness I thought it was. Right now I just have wires runing from the top of the fuse block all the way back and obviously still have problems. When the weather gets warmer I am going to have to have my dad help me do a bunch of rewiring as he is much better and neater about it than I. My biggest gripe about my truck is the electrical system. My power windows only work from the drivers seat also. I have replaced the drivers door panel and still no worky and I have not been able to track down the actuall problem yet. Wiring=YUCK to me.
