Looking at an 05 need input.

I am looking at an 05 SLT Cummins/auto.

The salesman told me the entire power train is covered for 100,000 miles? I thought the engine was but nothing else he said yes the trans is covered as well, is this true?

Also wnted to know how the auto trans has been holding up? To me that seems to be the only part that concerned me. I am a GM person but will be converting from my Dmax to the Dodge or the Ford. The Ford 6.0 scares me with all its issue's.

Any feed back you can give me would be helpful.

Thanks

The drivetrain is covered by a 7year 70,000 mile warranty. The Cummins is warrantied for 100,000 miles.

DC was going to drop the 7/70 warranty, is that an '05 or an '06 thing?

I was told they were dropping the 7/70 in 06. For what it's worth. I talked with a dealer mechanic about where to put my trans temp sender right after I signed the papers. He had a CTD up on the lift and showed me which port he thought was best. Anyway, we got talking about trans temps and reliability and in the course of conversation he said they have had very little trouble with the 48r. He said they had lots of problems with the 47R when the 600 motor fitst came out. He seemed forthcoming, but he was still a dealer mechanic???? Check out the recent thread on this board about 1000 ft-lbs through the stock tranny and it lived. I'm now more worried about the infinty amp crapping out on my upcoming trip to MOAB (that would be along trip with no tunes), then the tranny.
