Locking gas cap

After seeing so many things done to so many cars in my area, for seemingly no reason, I want to get a locking gas (diesel) cap. It would drive me insane if i found some punk dumped some crap in my fuel tank because they thought it would be funny.

Does anyone have any recomendations or suggestions?

Thanks,
Sam

AutoZone, Checker, etc. usually carry those things... about $5-$10 if I'm not mistaken for a nice metal Standt brand locking cap w/2 keys. Might even be able to get them @ Wal-Mart, if you can stand the wading through all of the idiots at those places.

I would think it would be the same cap as a 1500... not sure though so be sure to check the fitment book.

That should keep anyone from peeing in your tank...

I bought a locking cap from the dealer. I think around $11. They didn't list it for the 04, but it was exact. Might help in someone putting water in your tank. Or to keep someone unfamiliar from putting gasoline in.

Just for you interest, it is almost a mute point to steel fuel though. Just stick your head around into the wheel well and all you have to do is cut the rubber tube going into the tank. It will help when I get my wheel well liners.

I'm more worried about someone putting something in the tank rather then taking fuel out.

My brother and I both bought the one's from the Dodge dealer. They work fine, and we've had them from new!

Not sure if you want to drop this much on it, but Geno's has a locking fuel door.

Mandatory. I have always had one. Keep a spare key in your glove box. $11 to potentially avoid maybe $5000 in vandalism repairs. I can't imagine anyone taking that risk.
