Pretty good investment with the rising fuel costs! I remember 2-3 yrs ago here locally where lots of folks were having their tanks siphoned overnight. That'd really ruin your day for sure.

Why siphon, when a cordless drill will get it faster and leave a hole in the tank. The truck is high enough to get under easy.

My concern is someone will put something in the tank.

Yeah, there were a few cases of holes being drilled in the tanks too. The way I see it, if a thief wan't something bad enough, they'll find a way to get it. The only remedy for that problem is to swing the big stick and take out a couple knee caps .

The cap is a deterrent but with a pair of channel locks you can have it off in a few seconds.

I like the green diesel cap. Is that the Stant one from their site?

I may have to order one to replace my generic black locking cap. Most important use for the locking cap was to prevent the wife from possibly putting gasoline in the diesel, I hid the key in the truck so she couldn't fill it without talking to me. Now a problem now that she has her TDI.
