I really appreciate all the posts on this subject.

It was interesting to find that others had the same problem, and that there may not be a reason we know of, other than an accidental brushing against the lock.

Anyway, it shouldn't be a problem in the future. One extra key in the wallet, and another hidden on the truck.

 

You guys are very lucky all you need to do is call some one and have your door opened. When you leave your truck running and go into a store, you might come back and find a space where your truck was!!! Dodge Diesel is a prize for the car thief.

 

Me too in the middle of nowhere. No idea why? Had an extra key in my wallet. Exiting the truck, always let the window down a hand length just in case. This is why I did not order the security option. I understand the chipped keys are $100 and too big for your wallet.
