Location of Flasher for Turn Signals?
Does anyone know where the turn signal flasher relay is on a third generation CTD? I am prepping up for a trip with my new 2004.5 CTD and toyhauler. I was checking to make sure that the truck had a heavy duty flasher from the factory. I can't find the flasher relays for either the hazard flashers or the turn signals. In my 97 they were inside the fuze/relay box on the side of the dash. I looked inside the fuze/relay box under the hood and under the dash--no joy. The owner's manual doesn't mention the location of the flasher units. Thanks.

Just turn on your turn signal and follow the sound. My first guess would be under the dash. Either way i dont think you'll run into any problems with the factory one

After I couldn't find the flasher visually, my next step was to turn on my turn signal and listen for the flasher. Interestingly enough, there is a flasher sound in two locations. The first is high up inside the dash at about the same height as the turn signal indicators in the dash display. The second location is inside the fuze/relay box under the hood. However the diagram on the inside of the cover does not show flasher relays for either the turn signals or the hazard lights. Activating the hazard flashers gets me the same results as using the turn signals. Perhaps one of the other relays in the fuze/relay box does double duty. There is definitely a relay working inside the box, but I can't find it. The fuze/relay box does have fuzes for left and right trailer lights. When I hook up to my toyhauler hopefully the turn signal flasher relay (where ever it might be) will have sufficient power to run my trailer turn signals.
Appreciate the help. I wonder if anyone with a third generation has had problems with their stock flasher not being up to the task.

To All,
Thanks for all of the info. Looks like I am good to go. I'm looking forward to seeing how the new truck does on the trip with 9000 pounds worth of toyhauler and toys.
