LED signal lighting

So I thought I'd upgrade the signal light bulbs on the 2005 Ram. Ordered some LEDs from LED blah blah company and thought I'd just plug and play. I had some Resistors on stand by just in case. I plugged them in and it threw the Lamp Out code. I spliced in one 6Ohm-50W resistor and same thing. I tried another...nothing. So I tried one more for a total of three but it still threw the lamp out code. I have the wiring diagram and placed the resistors on the White/tan striped wire. I even went so far and to try some of the others but same effect. I also noticed that when I installed my LED taillights that the suplier has all the appropriate resistors in place thereby making it a plug and play.... Wish everything was that easy.

Do any of you think that perhaps I need to try different resistors with higher/lower wattages or higher/lower Ohms??

Any electrical wizzes got any advice? accepting all offers!

Thanks

bump ttt...interested also.

Peculiar that the aftermarket vendor already has the resistors in place and it still doesn't work.

Diagram of wiring I found.

After a little looking I found this diagram online. I haven't tried it yet to prove it works but it came from a reputable source. I'll verify it's operability in a couple days.

The proper load resistor is a 6Ohm 50W. I just had it hooked up wrong.

That is the correct wiring diagram, they must be wired parallel not in a series.

TS,Tail and B/U must have theses in them if using LED's

The values on your resistor should be,

6 Ohm 50 watt like these (RL-650 bottom of page):

I just came in from wiring it all up and I can confirm that everything now works fine. Much needed upgrade for the 05 as the headlight does not turn itself off as the new year'd trucks do. The LED really shines through the headlights beam.

Good luck to all

The SuperbrightLED website seems the best for that stuff that I have seen over the years.. Gonna outfit the RV with some LED's from there soon.
