leather seats?

I was wanting to know how you guys like the leather seats in the megacabs? I have a 06 qc with cloth seats and might trade it in on a 06 megacab and wanted your thoughts on leather.

I am pretty happy with them so far. I only have about 1700 miles in them, but they have been great. I was a Chevy owner prior this truck and I have to say that nothing compares to Chevy leather seats. They are by far the most comfortable out there. But these seem as good, if not better, than the the Ford's. They are firm but still comfortable. The only thing I would complain about is that they don't seem to hold you in the seat when cornering so you slide around more, but... it's not a sports car. Like I said, I am happy with them.

Leather is more durable as long as you take care of it.

I haven't taken delivery of my truck yet so I can't comment, but my experience with leather on many previous vehicles has been great.

Why do you say to keep with cloth for long trips. The Chevy Suburban I had was great on long trips and with kids you could wipe up puke, milk, and other bad stuff off leather, but with cloth, you really have to clean the heck out of it to keep it smelling good. Scotty

I've had leather in two Dodge trucks used only on long trips and wouldn't have anything else. Also in a Mustang covertible used on short and long trips whatever that has to do with it.

I guess it depends on your definition of "LONG TRIPS". I've had my '03 Leather Seats on two what I would describe as LONG TRIPS. The first was a Summer trip from Coast to Coast to Coast and back (CA, NC, LA, CA) and the second was a Spring trip from CA to AK and back. Both were ~10,000miles each.

For those LONG TRIPS, the leather seats were very comfy. YMMV.

No Thanks, Too,Too HOT in the Summer and TOO cold in the Winter(heater may help but not a first). Recovering is cheap with cloth, not Leather.

I second the Classic Soft Trim. I had it installed in my 02.5. Their leather is much more durable and there is also more of it. The back seats in my 04.5 aren't even leather...their pleather!!!! The CST seats are 100% leather on all seating surfaces.

People with leather seats also seem to like butt warmers since the seats are too cold in the winter, as if that's an area of your body that you'd want to simmer until done, with the fine aromas wafting thru the cab, and they seem to like putting something over the seats in the summer as they're too hot. Leather can be more durable, but it can also get pretty funky smelling.
