Lamp Out light
my 03 has a lamp out light coming on and off, it is anoying. i do not have a lamp out, i have checked them all. the light comes on intermititaly, goes off when i hit the brakes, it is dinging everytime it does this. has any one heard of a problem like this? any sugestions? company that put my cab lights in tapped into the rear right tail light for power, they just wraped the wire around the prong on the fuse, not sure that is the problem.

check your rear brake lights, The bulbs in them get loose inside of the sockets. I spent a $100 on a new socket then realized All I had to do was use a small screwdriver and expand the metal connectors inside to make the bulb fit tighter.

Wow. I replaced my 04 socket assembly for about $29 at the dealer. Did you get the whole fixture or just the gray 3 lamp bar that screws onto the back? Also had the same issue as described, and the lamp would also work intermittently.

Yep I have the exact same problem with my brake lights. My light sockets actually have small cracks and the bulbs wont hold tight. Even if you bend the contact tabs that only last a day or so. I guess I'll have to buck up for some new sockets.

Mine does it about every six months. I just replace the six bulbs and it's good again for six months. I've tried adjusting the contacts and using contact cleaner/grease on them and it hasn't helped. I've also tried to pinpoint which contact point was causing it but I always end up replacing them all...

Mine did the same thing for a while and drove me crazy. Turned out that the filliment wire in the bulb for the right side tail light was broke but making contact making it appear it was ok. While driving, if I hit a dip or bump in the road it would temp. loose contact and cause the lamp out and ding.
