I have a 2003 2500 SLT diesel. When I bought it, it only had aftermarket Viper key FOBs. The only button on the fob that is active is the lock/unlock button. No chirp when I lock or unlock. Would like to get a few extra FOBs and activate the chirp. Any ideas?

 

Why not get them directly from Viper?

Thanks for replying BigIron. I think I may have not been clear what I am looking for. The Viper key fobs work fine, but I don't have the originals and I am wondering if I can turn the "chirp" back on and if I buy some original key fobs if I can self program them.

The PITA with this fob is the same button is lock and unlock and there is no chirp so as I walk away from my truck I am always wondering if I really locked it or not.

 

I'd imagine since it's Viper it's an alarm? If so, does the alarm work? Maybe the alarm horn wires broken? Maybe you can have silent alarm activation option? Is it in Valet mode? With the original key fob on our 2002 and our 2006 and my wife's 06 Pacifica you can have honk and lights flash or no horn, but lights still flash. My 06 I don't even look for the lights I can hear my locks snap.

EDIT: Actually thinking back I believe our 2002 didn't have factory remote locks or fob and when I had the alarm installed they hooked up the power locks to the alarm system. It may be possible your 03 didn't come with a fob.
