key fob question

Just wondering how far away from the vehicle your fob will lock/unlock the doors on your vehicles. Mine will only work to about 15 feet away from the vehicle. On any other vehicle i have had i could be atleast 50 feet away before they started not working, and on a couple i could actuate the locks from over 100 feet away.

At one time, mine only worked from that short distance. A new battery in the Fob brought me back to Long Distance Service.

Mine works from several hundred feet too but it depends on which way the truck is pointed from where I'm standing. We were at a restaurant one night and parked about 200' away because we had the RV. As I stepped out the door of the restaurant I had my key in my hand and pressed the button not expecting anything to happen and low and behold the marker lights flashed so I did it again and it did it again. We were all amazed. My BIL tried his Chevy and it wouldn't unlock til he got about 50' away from it. We were perpendicular to the drivers side.

Ditto, even after four years! Last winter I unlocked my truck for my kid while night skiing, I must have been 300+ yards away up on the hill. It was cool to see the park lights flash from way up there! Maybe the atmospheric conditions were just right or something....

Yeah, and when you've got Long Distance on your fob you can hide in the bushes and scare your boss half to death if you hit the 'Panic' button when he walks in front of your truck in the parking lot
