Just put the 315's on.
I hope this pic came through.
These tires make the truck look a lot better, lowered the RPM's, and improved the ride. But my highway mpg (2000 rpm @ 70 mph) went from 22 to 20. I used a GPS for speed and miles. Speedo reads 6 mph slower @70mph. I thought lowering the rpm's would increase mpg??

But now you're turning more mass with bigger tires, and wider tires also increase the friction.
For best milage tires should be tall and narrow.

crabjoe,
I'm running 4:10 's.
I didn't think a spare would fit under the bed but I read a post today saying it will so I'll be ordering another one tomorrow. Is the spare a 16 inch rim??

Cal,
I've got no idea even where the spare on the Ram is but I assumed it was under the bed. Going by my knowledge, your a few steps ahead of me. Also, I ordered a short bed so it might be a problem even if they fit on the long bed. BTW, the spare should be 17 inches, as my understanding is that Dodge went to 17 inch rims because a 16 won't work with the larger brakes.

If your other 4 are 17 inch rims, the spare should be too.
16 inch probably wouldn't clear your brake calipers.
My spare doesn't fit under the bed, and I read a post that said the biggest a 2nd gen could fit was a 285 with almost no tread left.
3rd gens might be different.
Mine is currently hanging out in the bed till I find a solution.
If it was me, I'd drop the spare (can double check rim size while down) and put one of your other 4 tires/rims on and hoist it up to confirm if it fits or not.

CTDinMT,
The tires fit like a glove with no lift or leveling kit and without any rub at all even at full lock.
It is quite possible that I'll be Relocating to the Bozeman area with in the next 6 months. (Job pending) How does your CTD handle the Montana cold?? What do you think of Bozeman? My brother lived in Great Falls for 6 years and said it's the closest to heaven as he's ever been. Moving to Montana has been the ONLY thing on my mind for the past month. Even if I don't get this job I'm still considering moving out there any way.

Re:Just put the 315's on.
Hey Calvin,
Bozeman is a nice town. Kinda smack dab between Butte and Billings and Helena is to the north. Second to Missoula, I would say Bozeman is the next best place in MT. Montana is great if you like to hunt & fish. Archery season is going now and rifle season in end of oct thru end of nov for deer and elk.
I really don't care much for Great Falls, itself (dont have a choice-military), as we are out on the plains. We have mountains within 30 min and the rockies 1hr west. I wish I could tell ya how my truck does in the cold, but I bought it 3 weeks ago, so this winter will be an experiment for me. Temps here get as low as -30 at times w/o windchill. Several of my freinds have diesels, and as long as it's kept plugged in and you put anti-gel in the tank each fill-up, they have'nt had any problems. One guy I know had his fuel filter gell up last winter, but that was with -20 temps and no anti-gel. Dont worry though, most temps are in the teens at night and 20's/30's for high in winter months, but we do regularly get those cold snaps into the negative temps. There are a couple of other guys on this site from Great Falls (jd knite and Spark Chaser) that could answer your questions better, since they've had they're CTD's longer, thru winter I'm sure.
Sorry I can't help more, but good luck and let me know if you need anything else. -Steve

Re:Just put the 315's on.
Calvin,
Dont mean to get off topic - but Bozemen (and the rest of Montana) is incredible. If you like the outdoors - mountain biking, quading, fly fishing, and hunting you will enjoy Bozeman a lot. My brother lives in Billings and just loves it. Good luck.
Oh yeah, dont worry about your Cummins in the cold - I live a LOT fiuter north then Montana and it runs just fine.
BTW, great looking truck.
