why was my 99 2wd 3500 getting 20+ on the interstate @ 70-80
and 14.5 with the horsre trailer loaded with 4 horses going to a 4 day show?
99 had 3.55
07 has 3.73 and 4wd does it make that much diff. to add 4wd?

I was getting (empty) 15.2-16.2 with 50/50 city hwy combo driving. 17.4 at best on the hwy at 65mph. I had the reflash done last week and my hwy mileage went up to 19.1-19.3(hand calculated). I am now at 18.1 on the overhead(it normally shows 1 less mpg than actual) and this tank has been 400 miles of 60%hwy 40% city. I highly recomend the reflash for you guys with 06's built prior to 11-06.

another '03 305/555 Ho here that "averages' 22 mpgs on my 110 mile a day commute. These are averages and not just best tank. My overhead reads 1 to 1.5 less than pencil figures. Towing my 11200 lb 5er the last 3400 mile trip through TX/CO/UT/WY/KS/NM was 12+ mpg. My neighbor has a '03 3500 305/555 HO DRW auto 4.10 that drives 140 mile a day and SHE averages 20.5 to 21.
My previous 2500 '01 Cummins auto 3.54 235/460 engine would average 20 mpgs on the same 110 mile commute.
We don't have a city out here so can't say what city mpgs this 305/555 engine will pull. No change in mpgs with ULSD from Shell/Phillips/Flying J truck stops I use.

I have an 07 Cab and Chassis with the 6.7 engine and Aisin transmission and my mileage is running 8.5 to 10.0 mpg. This is with a big gooseneck behind it up to 24,000 lbs. I've had it working now for two weeks and a day and other than the mileage everything is fine. My miles are now up to over 5600. My old truck, a 2003, averaged 11.3 over one 10,000 mile period that I checked. Hopefully this one will equal that after it gets broken in.

The reflash is covered under warranty if your vehicle has any updated tsb's or reflashes authorized from cummins. In my case I let them know that I was getting poor mileage, white smoke from the exhaust and slow cranking times. The latter two were not necessarily true but by telling the dealer of these problems I was able to get the proper reflash.
