I agree, 17 MPG would be a beautiful thing. I have about 5400 miles on mine. I just completed a 2400 mile trip. My best tank was 15.8, worst was 14.6 all hand calc'd. This is driving empty with cruise set at 75 MPH.

So far my mileage hasn't changed since new, in fact if anything it is going down. I do realize this is a big pickup, but I certainly am not getting the mileage that many people claim.

I got 20.4 hand calculated last winter on a 2400 mile trip from Wyoming to southern Arizona and back. I experienced all kinds of weather and about an hour creeping along in Las Vegas traffic jams. I did not drive over 70 on interstate and kept it at 65 on other highways. Going 75 and over is hard on the wallet.

In a recent trip 3700 miles round trip over a two weeks period I got an average of 19.8 mostly highway driving at speed limits. On my normal driving which is 100% city with many stops I average in the low to mid 12. Last tank with the cold weather and winter fuel mid 11 mpg.

I have been fluctuating between 12 mpg and 19 mpg. Seems like it does better after a fill-up, and when we drive steady. Only have 1500 miles on it so far, so expect better things. Start towing mid december, when we get out of here (Oregon) for the winter. Puling a 30 foot Avion trailer.

Mine is crap too. 17,000 miles, 35" tires and I feel dang good if I get 15. Pulled two 4 wheelers all weekend and was getting about 11mpg.

Add me to the "my mileage sucks" category. So far, with mostly city driving, I get about 10-11 mpg hand calculated (12-13 on the overhead). Hard to say what highway mileage is because I haven't put enough highway miles on it. Did take a trip pulling a 24' enclosed trailer at about 8500# and got about 10-11 mpg then too. Only about 3900 miles on the truck, so hopefully it will get better, I'm just not so sure it will get to the numbers I was expecting. I was really expecting more like 14ish in town and 18-19ish on the highway............

I wish it had a bigger tank......... at 10 mpg you can't get too far without needing fuel.

Started out @ 14.24 and increased to 15.34, 16.72, 17.43 then the utility bed went on

12.85, 12.50 then tried running in tow mode because the commute is on a 2 lane road with speeds from 20-40 MPH...

Dropped to 11.72 so I locked out the OD and managed 14.50 and 14.26.

Trip from Santa Cruz to Las Vegas with the utilty bed I got 14.89 with cruise set 75-80.

5800 miles on the clock.
