Interior Lights going off

For some reason when opening the door or turning on the map lights with the truck not running, the lights go out after a few seconds. Even when repeatedly turning them back on. Just started this a few weeks ago. What is going on?

I posted on this very problem a few weeks ago and one response was to disconnect batteries for a period of time. I did for a few hrs and hooked them back up and now the lights work as before. Give it a try.

That's the thing. One battery was weak when it started this so I put on two new ones and it quit for a few weeks, now it's doing it again. That's weird because I replaced them one at a time so I wouldn't need to reset the clock and radio presets.

There is a TSB for this issue. A dealer can fix it.. Some have said that removing the battery cables for about 1 hour will fix it.
I think I had one of the first trucks to have this issue. Dealer did not know what was going on, I sat in on a conversation with the service manager and a Dodge technical support guru and the Dodge rep. admitted that at that time, they had reports of this condition, but were still working on a solution. They had almost started to rip the entire dash apart on my truck and replace everything...(had been to the shop 5-6 times for this issue)
Finally, Dodge got with the dealer and fixed mine... About 2-3 months later, the TSB came out..

Do you know the TSB number or what caused it?

It is a software issue with the CCN... I believe the TSB to be 08-026-06. Apparently some owners reported the temp. to be reading wrong and others like myself had the dome-light issue.
My truck did NOT do this when new, it actually started sometime between 12-18 months of ownership... Just happened to take it (and my wife) out to eat one night..
