Interesting fuel mileage results with SHAKEY
I have logged over 3500 miles on the truck since I put my shaker hood on.
Towing I found the mileage improved by a marginal 1 MPG.
This could be many different contributing factors. Towing 7-8,000 pounds same speeds as empty...15.8 mpg. Was in the mid 14's prior
However, cruising empty at 2000 RPM and sometimes at the next notch, I have 24.8 on the computer and 20.7 calculated.
Another thing I noticed was much better mid range power...this could be because of the massive amounts of available air 'tricking' the sensor to the ECM. The ECM sees a lean condition and ramps up the fuel. Just a guess.
I think I would see a lot better mileage towing if I did not have an HY-35 turbo on there. Its probably more at its limits then it would be with an HX-35 or larger. Or towing twins.
I am only running an old EZ.

I also figured out something else...I am not getting the optimum amount of air with the three holes in there.
the center hole is letting air escape from the air box.
I am going to put a top on that has no center hole and see if my thinking [yes I know its scarey when I think] is good or bad.
Also, I did metal fittings to the filters...I am not liking that as much as I thought I would. I am going to try and plumb this with abs pipe fittings instead. It will be lighter, simpler and more affordable to do and if done right will look good. This will also allow end users to choose the filters they want to put in there.
I am also going to try a pair of 8" long by 6" diam foam filters next.
