Installing cruise switches

I have a ST model without cruise control. I went to Dodge today and bought the cruise control switches. I need help on how to remove the plastic inserts on my steering wheel where the switches go.

Never mind I FINALLY figured it out. For anyone interested : Unscrew the two bolts behind the steering wheel, remove the face of the steering wheel, remove the plastic inserts, plug in the cruise switches, put everything back together and wala you have cruise control.

all you did was add the switches to get operational cc. has anyone done this to an 06 w/o cc?

I went to a local dealership and ordered the switches for $33. The truck was pre wired for cruise, all I had to do was plug the switches in to the exsisting connectors behind the steering wheel. I did not have to update my computer or anything. I have had it for almost a week now and everthing works great.

P.S. I think you can only do this with 6spd. If you have an automatic you might have to get Dodge to update your computer.

Heated Seats

I wonder if this holds true with heated seats. I have a Laramie with every option, but I do not have heated seats. I have seen a empty plug under the seat but am curious if the same holds true as your C/C switches?

I've been trying to find an inexpensive way to enable the high idle feature on my truck. I also have an ST w/o cruise. Does anybody know if this will work for me? Is the wiring already behind the steering wheel, and could I just go to the dealer and buy cruise switches and have everything just plug and play??

All right then, does anyone know if you can do this with the radio control switches?

I'd also like to know about the seat heater. I have a harness with plug under my power seat. I wonder if this is for the heaters?

I think that the raido controls are only on the leather wrapped steering wheels. May be wrong...

03 Auto has a vacuum pump. Several more additional parts are required.
