idle up

Just curious if there is any way to idle a 2006 6 spd manual truck up by usng stock cruise control. I have a buddy with a 07 automatic and he is able to idle up. I know there has to be some saftey precautionary so the truck isn't accidently knocked into gear at high idle. It has to be possible because my truck will high idle in cold weather.I've tried the local dodge dealership without much help.

do a search for 5.9 high idle manual transmission. you have to jumper a a pin (#22) i believe on the 5.9. i have done it on the 6.7 manual trans., but it is done differently.

Once you jump the pin stated above in Mastercaster's Post (Pin #22), you will need to take a trip to the dealer or mechanic shop that has a DRB 3 tool to activate the ECM High Idle feature. I think? You might have to try idling up using the cruise control just to see if it is not already activated, otherwise a trip to the dealer to activate the feature. Beware they may charge you for it.
