I want clean windows

No matter how clean you get them the outgassing's going to return. A windshield repair guy told me to always leave the windows down a crack and that should help. I finally got rid of some stubborn water spots on the outside of my windshield with a microfiber cloth and straight vinegar. Stoner's wouldn't dent it.

I use the eagle 1 in the areosal can and a micro fiber towel and that seems to get the windows pretty clean. Plus if you have you windows tinted with after market tint DON'T use Windex or any glass clean like it. Use the Eagle 1, it is tint safe, the Windex type cleaners will make the tint turn purple. Actually happend to a friend of mine and the tint shop I had my truck done at strongly recomended not using windex for the same reason.

What is the best way to get off hard water stains from a sprinkler on the glass. I've tried all the chemicals, vinegar, CLR, etc. Nothing really budges it. The deposits are quite thick, have lots of minerals in the water...

As CMAC mentioned, Bon-Ami is great for cleaning up grime off of windshields. It has enough of a grit to help clean, but it won't scratch the glass.
Another idea for the hard water spots would be a razor blade. I've usually just used a new blade from my utility knife. Just use it as if you're shaving the glass and it will cut through most stuff on the glass without damaging the glass itself.
Good luck

IV also used superfine steel wool and Stoners spray on the windshield to get the grime off the windshield.
Also do the steelwool before applying RainX.
Seems to work pretty good for me.
