285's on Mojave Teflons

Here's a picture of my new warranty replacement tires (and wheels). They are BFG All Terrain KO 285/70/17 on American Racing Mojave Teflons. Also installed is a 2" leveling kit.

OK, bear with me as I've just bought my first Dodge diesel. Anybody know how much effect changing from stock size tires to 285 or 315 will have on the truck's power with 3.73 rearend gears? Shouldn't be too much concern with the diesel I know, just curious.

I run 285s on my 3.73 geared truck. After getting the speedo recalibrated, I can tell virtually no difference in performance.

Has anyone held a tape next to a set of 315/70/17 to find out the actual height once they are on the truck?

I didn't notice any power loss compared to my brothers F150 5.4 w/315's

Just went and measured. Installed height of 33.5". I thought it would be taller. I didnt measure the stock tires.

What brand tire was that? My Goodyear 305/70/17's measure out to the same thing.

You will notice little if any difference with those tires. You may notice a small mileage drop with the bigger ones, but not much if any. You will need a leveling kit though to clear everything

Yeah the gassers will really notice the bigger tires, not enough torque

My 285's are 32" tall, I believe that the factory ones are 30" tall.
