I just "discovered" a headlight timer!!

I didn't know my truck had a headlight timer & I've read the owners manual (I must have missed that part I'll have to look again)!!

I usually shut off the headlights before shutting off the ingnition or with the doors open so it never showed up before.

If you shut off the ignition & have the doors shut before you turn off the headlights it shuts off the driving & dash lights but the headlights stay on for about a min.

Some of you may have known this already but it was interesting to me when it just happened!!!

Yeah someone else posted about this and I informed them about this feature. It's pretty nice to have.

I often get reminded that I have left my headlights on so have learned to play a little game. If you can time it right for when someone tells you that your lights are on, say thanks, turn around a blow. Like magic, the lights go off.

You can defeat this by simply turning the parking lights on and off, one time. Then the headlights stay off for that cycle.

Yep, that's what I do. That way I have that piece of mind that me lights are off.

On another note, I can't get the parking lights to stay on for more than a few minutes after I take the key out. Even if I turn off the truck and the lights off, then turn the parking lights ON.

Gee, it's kinda like that "High Idle" when the truck is cold that I never saw mentioned in the manual. I'm liking that... ;D

I guess I should read my owners manual again to see what I missed!!
When I came to the part on headlights I thought "I know how to turn on the headlights" & I skipped that part!!

No telling what I'll find when I re-read it!!
