I Hate Dodge Dealers!!

I very little if ever bring my trucks back to the dealers to get fixed but, every time I do they Never do satisfactory work. Either they damage my trucks or get grease and oil all over the interior. Three brand new CTD in three years, each truck was brought back 1 time and something happened every time. And the best is, it's been a different dealer each time.
I won't complain about the old problems but I wanted to tell of todays experience. Truck went in for a water leak. The roof or back window leaked all over the back seat. So now I have 2 huge water stains on my seat. During the water repair they lowered the head liner from the rear not the whole thing. So what happened, they bent the headliner down so far that they creased it in 5 or 6 place's. Now it looks like cardboard that got folded over then opened flat again. Now i'm realy edited by admin! The dealer told me there not going to do anything about the water stains either.
The service department was closed when I picked up the truck, so my question is-- I have the temper that stays calm for about 2 minutes, How should I handle this one? The one stain is the size of a basketball and the other size of a football. I'm not livin with that. Can I get some good advice??
Thanks, Jim

I have the same temper. I would talk civil for about the aforementioned 2 minutes. If they refuse to fix it, I would switch to freaking out! I hate poor workmanship. Doesn't anyone care about taking pride in their work anymore? If I were to work at a Dodge dealership, I wouldn't send it out until I was satisfied with what I had just done. Treating every truck as if it were mine. And I take really good care of my stuff, therefore I expect them too as well. I'd lose it after 2 minutes, but thats just me.

Take it back and be nice. Make them empathize with you and see how they'd feel in the same situation. The warrantee should cover that just like if your crank broke and parts came off the front of your engine and messed up some accessories.

Talk to the Service Manager and explain what was done and ask why they will not take care of damage. Get the explanation in writing.

If that does not work then go the GM of the dealer.

Then the owner.

Then DC Customer Care, BBB, etc.

Of course in my case I would loose it after the first 2 minutes also and wind up in deep dodo. I have to say that my dealers Service Department, techs and Service Manger are as good as they come. I have dealt with the same dealer for over 4 years and two trucks. They never screwed up anything or me. Always did the right thing and only what was needed. They are the only dealer I have ever said that about.

Let me start with I've been a service writer at a Benz dealer about 12 years and I can tell you going in angry dosent get you help. I know how you feel and want to act but It will not help with the dealer/manufacturer for any assistance. Make appt with the service manager and take all documentation of visit or visits, do it in an orderly or professional fashion. Other words don't go in off the cuff. It's one thing to have an issue with the "product" that they don't control but it's another thing if it's a "service" issue that he can control. If truck, or repair is warranty don't forget to mention the "survey" you will be getting to fill out. Ask him if it was his truck and he picked it up how would he feel.? If no luck there get your warranty book out and look up the 800 number or email to go up the chain. Trust me they don't like the "up the chain" way. You can PM me if you need some help.

And people wonder why TOYOTA is #1.
I have had many "sloppy" incidents happen at the dealer.
Time is money and anything else is "B.S."
The funny thing is the "BIG THREE", even facing extinction...never seem to learn!
When they go belly up they will just say "Wa Happend"
Sad...but true.

Mmm, good advice!

As irresponsible and lame as they may be at the dealer, they are still human and subject to empathy.
No one is saying to kiss up, just tell them it is not acceptable this way and tell them what you need them to do to remedy the situation.

Imagine you're me, on parole. It makes you stay calm.
One more strike and I'm looking at a life sentence.
Look em dead in the eye and say something like "I need the truck to get to anger management classes."

So...oooo basiclly $85.00 Per Hr. is not enough for quality work??? And I guess that the 150% mark up on parts is not enough for the dealerships! After paying the bill and getting substandard work, now we need to Kiss edit for language?

Helfman Dodge on I-10 and Silber. They sell mainly trucks out of that location and that is all that is on the lot. The service manager Tim is a straight talking guy. My service writer Alan has always been willing to help with diagnostics when I could not get anywhere else. They have always been fair on cost of repairs not covered by warranty. Somethings they have a fixed hourly cost on and somethings they have some head room. They have always been competitive in repairs. I do trust them to diagnose and fix the Cummins. They do a fair fleet sales and service I think also. I know they are expanding the service garage to handle the 4500/5500 trucks hitting the market this fall.

be calm & reasonable, sometimes, they have CRAP in their life,
and they have their hands full.

go back in nice & polite & firm, and talk it over with them, if they cooled off, they will see your side. if not, make some phone calls.

the last Chevy i had, the Service manager said it would take YEARS for them to recover from all bad reports and phone calls i made.

there is such a thing as a "district service manager" who makes decisions in like a state wide area. get his # and see what he says.

just stay calm, it is after all, just a truck.
and FWIW, there is a thread on the 06 seats NOT being cleanable,
water just stains them, have to shampoo WHOLE THING to even it out

Thats too bad you feel that way. We are all working in this world to make a buck. Some are better at it than others, and others are just crooked. It's pretty hard to blatently state that you hate all dealerships because of some experiences you may have had with one or two. Most dealers markup on parts is approx 30%. I don't know where you get you 150% at, but give me any Mopar part number and I can tell you cost vs. list. I think you'll see they are a lot more fair than say McDonalds is on the price of a soda.(costs them around .10 ) Besides, where would you get "New" trucks from if there were no dealers. I know a lot of us can't afford a "New" truck, but without new sales from "dealers" there wouldn't be any used trucks to buy! Who would do your warranty work? I know, I know, I don't have all the answers, but I don't make "coverall" statements either. They can't ALL be crooked!
