I forgot how irritating this can be!!!!!!
I left home yesterday morning on my way to visit my sister about 150 miles away. About 10 miles down the road I get a "DING" behind the dash. Now, I had just picked up an Edge Mileage Max and stacked it with my VA box so my first thought was that it would be a CEL. There was nothing in the dash though. I immediately knew that one of my taillight bulbs was about to go. Over the next 25 miles that dang dinging became almost constant forcing me to leave the highway and find an auto parts store and replace all the bulbs.
I swear I wish I knew where the engineer that came up with that brilliant idea lived!!!!!!!
All is well now.
I am testing to see if the Edge MM will help my mileage more than the VA box already does by itself. I'll post those results later but it seems like it may have..

Has anybody ever figured out where that thing is and how to mute it? Fill it with silicone, drill a hole in it, tape over it or something.

The dinger is more then likely on the back of the cluster, I had an issue with a seatbelt wire on a car once and could not find it, but cause the seatbelt chime to ring all the time, the dinger was on the back of the cluster, I just broke one of the solder connections

Well, I've got the super fantastic Infinity system so that should have been loud enough to drown it out, right?!?! LOL
All six of the bulbs looked to be in bad shape so I'm glad I swapped them all out. No more issues with that.
As for the Mileage Max helping me out, with my high topper cap back on the truck, and driving 65-70 mph, it looks like I got 22 mpg which I'm pretty sure is better than I got before. Of course the overhead is telling me 25.5 mpg but when I filled up down there it was reading 3.5 mpg too high...
