How often are you changing your oil?

the dealership didnt even bother to read the manual I guess. They say 3750 for extreme conditions and 7500 for normal. Mine falls between both parameters IMO. I did mine at every 5000 with dino oil. Im switching this next time, which is here in about a week or 2 to a synthetic or synthetic blend like rotella 5w40. Then I plan on changing oil once a year since I run less than 10,000 miles a year

book says 7.5k for severe duty, i dont mind wasting the money for my peace of mind and change it every 5k. fuel filter every 10k. finally got to 20k so im switching to synthetic next go around so i might extend the drain time and do some oil analysis

Ive been doing every 3-4k, its cheap to change it anyway, about $30 for the oil and filter, which is less than when I was changing 6qts of Mobil 1 in my WS6. I could go longer, but its cheap assurance to me, and doesnt take but 30mintues to do, the only real problem is dumping all that oil out, I have 9 gallons sitting at the house I need to take up to the local vatozone to dump...

My manual says, for the 305 HP engine, change every 15,000 miles on Schedule A and every 7,500 miles on Scedule B.
I do mine every 10,000 miles. After over 100,000 miles it has never used a quart between changes and the oil is only slightly brown at the change.
Changing every 3-5,000 seems like an expensive hassle for nothing.

I got 10 free oil changes with the truck purchase. If you follow schedule B service, it says every 3,750 miles. It's about 60-80 bucks to pay for at most dealers & oil change places.
Once I go by the 36K-37K mark I'll move to every 5,000. I only got the truck to tow with so regular oil changes are a must IMO.

Cummins says you can go 15,000 miles. Using Delo 400 I did my first one @ 5000. The second one will come @ 12,500. The third @ 20,000. Then it's an oil bypass kit + Amsoil 15W40 + regular oil analysis from there on out and it's staying in there for as long as they say it's good.
My dealer charges $39.95 plus 9% TN sales tax to do oil changes on these trucks which is a pretty good deal but I like to do it myself.
