How much to change gears???

I get $1200-1500 for F+R depending on the condition of the axles and what the customer has for trade-in. I do it complete...no ghetto stuff, so it will cost a few bucks more.
I have yet to do any 3rd Gen Rams though.
Be sure to do your research and find a good drivetrain shop to do the job. Often times you will get what you pay for.

that sounds about right on for parts and labor...
add another 2-3 hours if installinf an e-locker in the front..

I just picked up a 04.5 3500 DRW, anybody want to trade axles that has 3.73's. I've got 4.10's that I don't really need.
IN AZ. Axles are alot easier to swap than gears

hey flycl65, how many miles on your truck? and where is AZ are you at? I have a sis in surprise and might be out that way sometime in the near future!

Did you get any rear end noise or whine out of the new gears? Or was it quiet as stock? This is my biggest worry. I want to put 4.10's in mine to get my gear ratio back to 3.73 for pulling my trailer. I hate the shift/power points with 3.73 and 35's when pulling.
As far as cost goes, locally it is about $1800 for everything.

if your auto, and the truck had 30" dia. tires stock, with 3.73 gears, it would take 4.56 to get close to stock tire-gear ratio. it will be just under what it would be from the factory. but i think most ppl. here agree that 4.10's and 37's mesh well together, as you gain a better top end.
