How much is actually leather?
Hey everyone. Just bought a 06 Mega cab and I love it. I did a search, but nothing came up, so... Just how much of the seats are actually leather? I would guess the top of the cushion and the face of the seat back for sure, but how about the front center and the rear seats? What do you guys use for protecting/cleaning these seats. Thanks in advance.

We had the leather/vinyl seats in the 1500 we had before the 2500. Only the 'seating surfaces' were leather. Everything else was vinyl. Nice vinyl.. but still vinyl.
With the new truck, I specifically wanted cloth as after having the leather I decided that leather was one of the most over rated.. and over valued things the car market has thrown at us. They should give you a DISCOUNT for taking it that way.
No more hot sticky seats in the summer, no more cold seats in the winter. Only down side to cloth is spills and dog hair don't come out as easy.

The leather is easier to maintain, more durable, and will last longer IF you take care of it. For some reason I often feel the leather seats are firmer than cloth of the same design. This seems to hold true with many different manufacturers. Having said that, the Dodge seats could definately be firmer.
If you keep them clean and use a leather conditioner to feed the hides, they will last plenty long.
You can find leather cleaner and conditioners at any AutoZone, Pep Boys, etc. I've used Lexol in the past and liked it.
