how $$ for hood liner, wheel liner, and cold cord?
i got the parts from where my wife used to work, and not quite sure i got a deal.
got no ticket on it, my daughter paid for it all for me and brought to house.
paid almost 175 for the hood liner, wheel well liner, and the engine block heater cord.
i think i had seen the cord on here for ~$10 at the Cummins dealer, no idea what the dealer charged me.
is it just me, or is the hood liner really effective?
it seems to be much more civil in the cab now, not as much "work truck" sound coming thru. the turbo still peirces thru, with the K&N FIPK

Here is a thread on hoodliners.

You might have paid a little more than if you had searched for the best price on each item, but not too bad. Sounds like the delivery to your door was worth a whole lot more than any extra you paid.
Wheel Well Liners $86 from dealer parts.
Hood Noise Blanket about $80 from dealer parts.
Dont know on the heater cord, it never gets that cold here.

well, it don't get that cold here either, but the wife HATES the cold, (3 yrs AFB in Omaha)
and I want a new toy to drive.
so i figure if i get it quiet enough, and make it nice and toasty in the morning, she will want to drive it, and I can get me a hot rod to drive to work.
tks for the feedback, shoulda searched them threads before i posted...was just worrying if i lost money...looks like done ok, esp considering delivery.

I ordered the hood liner and clips yetserday. I'm not sure what retail was, but my parts guy gave me a discount - $61 for the liner, and $4 for the clips. I was pretty happy. I paid the $10 to get the cord from the factory, and bought the liners from a different dealer at full retail of $85 or so...

Jerry R,
That is the only thing I see it is for. The 03-04 dont have it. The 04.5 HO 600 does. So it really can not be related to heat or anything else except noise.
Actually I think it would keep heat in the engine compartment, but then I dont really know.

The reasons I bought the hood liner are - the possibility of a SMALL sound reduction to complement all of the dynamat/sound insulation work I've done, giving the underside of the hood a much cleaner look, keeping some heat away from the paint and in the engine compartment, and finally because I love modding my truck and it was only $60
PS -= Hey does modding with stock parts count as modding?

OK, all good reasons. And actual benefit is I guess whatever you are looking for. But anything you do to your truck that gives you pleasure and makes you enjoy your truck more is probably reason enough.
