Home Made Fold Flat Floor
Here is the FFF that I made for my dog. Construction is as follows:
3/4 in MDF or plywood (I used MDF)
Dimentions
each section is 12" X 59"
Top when folded has a 1" X 3" notch cut in the back of the panel for clearance of the metal bracket when folded.
Bottom has a 1" X 3" piece 3/4 " MDF glued to fit snug under the lip of metal bracket.
Curves in each piece (remaining corners) to match seat contor so when people are sitting in the back they don't hit their ankles on the folded floor.
There are two heavy duty hinges holding the two sections together and allowing the floor to fold
Ok, see pics
Also, the 4x4 block seen in the last pic is for support in the middle of the outer lip of the floor when open.
This design fully supports my 110 lb Rottie and makes him very happy!
One thing I would do differently is to glue the fabric down instead of using staples. The staples are not holding very well in the MDF
Let me know if you need any further claifications.

Re:Home Made Fold Flat Floor
Are there any supports on the outer edges when opened up, like towards the door hinges? Does it hinge up like the seat to allow access the storage compartments below? I like the idea, nice and easy!!

Re:Home Made Fold Flat Floor
I did not put any supports on the outside edges, and have not seemed to need them. The 3/4 MDF does not flex much, and even when my dog stand on the edges (110 lbs) there does not seem to be an issue.
It is not hinged to fold up, but to get to the under seat storage buckets, I just slide the floor forward like this:
I am sure someone could design a better system, but I wanted quick, simple and easily removable. This floor is not attached to the truck in any way, so it comes in and out really easy (for reupholstering etc).
