I'm running 315's and am seeing 1900 rpm's at 65, that's with a corrected speedometer. 2nd gear starts are great unloaded, 1st gear starts are great loaded or with trailer in tow. I have a gain of 1.5mpg with the 315's. Keep in mind I am a pokey driver, no WOT or heavy acceleration, shifting at about 2200-2300 rpm's.

OK, so how are the 315's in the snow and ice? Are there any brands that are better than the next?
Also, can I install them on stock wheels on stock ride height?
Would like to know as I am considering buying an extra set of tires.

Rpm
The G56 is .79 to one in 6th while the NV5600 is .73 to 1. Doesn't seem like it would be all that much but I haven't stopped to crunch the numbers yet either.

Yes the G56 has a lower 6th gear, I have both the NV and G trannys and there is about a 300rpm difference at 75mph between the two (the 06 runs at 2500rpms @ 75mph). Both trucks have the same size tires and 3.73 rear end. And yes the manual 06 trucks redline at around 105....but no speed limiter.

I have the BFG A/T KO 315/70/17 on stock rims with 2" leveling. No rubbing Whatsoever. I don't think these tires are recomended for heavy snow. I run about 1990 rpms @ 70 mph. (Corrected speedo)

AAM 3.42's
On the other site someone posted a link to an announcement from AAM that they will be producing parts for a 3.42 ratio soon. I looked but can't seem to find it. I've got an '07 coming and welcome the stock gearing with my 1700# popup on my back 24/7.

Not sure about his mileage, but gets a little rub at full lock and says he has lost some power. He pulls around a CASE 95T all day everyday plus has an external fuel tank combo tool box in the bed. That's about 10K-12K load.
Since I don't constantly pull a load, I'm considering putting the 315's and 2" level kit. I personnaly don't like rub, even a little.
