High Speed Cruising
I rarely hit the highway empty. I'm usually pulling something when on the interstate since it's not part of my daily commute. So, coming home the other day on an empty stretch of interstate I (may or may not have )found myself comfortably cruising between 90-95. As I approached a ~5% grade 7000' ASL mountain pass, about 2 miles in length (OTR trucks struggle on it) the thought occurred to me whether or not I could hold 100 on it (since the go-pedal was several inches from the floor). Well, I put the hammer down and wasn't at all disappointed. In fact, I had to let off some to avoid blowing way past 100. She was just as solid and stable as could be, no vibrations, very little wind noise.
I don't advocate this behavior, and will probably never do it again, but it was very satisfying to see the capabilities. These trucks are just awesome!
Of course some of you won't be impressed, and will certainly have better stories than this one....

slorocco,
If you tried that in your 6 speed, you could easily be pulling a 10k trailer to boot!
You run out of RPM long before she runs out of pulling power !

I had mine to 106 and and from 65-106 it felt like an F-16 taking off...Well maybe not that fast but it never struggled one but just kept wanting to go go go...This thing sure beats the H*LL out of my F-150 w/302

My buddy takes his 04 Q/C up to 115 but my 04 dually won't go over 105 even with my BullyDog on extreme. What amazed me though is his 100-115 pull, just as smooth as his 60-80. My dually won't do it!
His 04 is still dead even with my 95 2500 V10 though, only I out run him with a top end of 130mph. Not bad for an 11yr old 3/4ton 4x4.

I had a little fun with a friends 11 sec 5.0 Mustang. We went from a 70 mph roll to about 125 and I walked him. However, he left it in 5th. But I still pulled away.
I've had my truck around 100 several times, and it always impresses me. I have the 315 TKO's on and they impress me to, at 100 they are as smooth as any tire I've owned.

I had my '05 to an indicated 105 on the interstate the other day. This was done only to clean out my injectors!! I was quite impressed with the power delivery up to that point. It felt as if it would go a bit more easily as I hadn't reached redline. My truck is bone stock, and I am still loving it.
