High Idle on a 6 speed???
I didn't want to hijack a thread so I thought I would just start a new one...
Is there anyway to put/enable high idle on a 6 speed? My truck idles a lot and I have seen where it has been said that high idle prevents damage. I know that when it's cold the idle goes up to 1000 but I was wandering if there was anyway to get it to idle up when it's not cold...
Besides a stick and the electric seat!
Thanks for the help guys

There was information on this a little while back. No one would give any information up within the thread itself. There were however, a million links posted everywhere. Some were good links, others were bad, and I got tired of trying to follow the maze.
Hopefully someone will give up the info right within this thread.

Try looking at what stateline did, look at post #40. https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...ight=stateline
It sounds like your difficulty will be getting the dealer to enable it once you do the modification. But if you were in the market for a Bully Dog downloader, this could be a plus.

Another forum a guy figured out to do this. I believe he had to order a clutch switch from cummins (part number is listed in the thread) and then get the dealer to flash the ecm. All in all it sounded fairly easy and I believe others have tried it also. The link is attached:
