High Beam Indicator
Anybody know of a way to dim the High Beam Dashboard Indicator? IT sure is a pain driving at night on dark roads with the dash lights dimmed and that bright blue lamp illumed. I am ready to use the same fix i use on my VCR blinking time light: Black Electrical Tape

Re:High Beam Indicator
Fortunately, from a maintanance standpoint, the indicator is a blue LED soldered to the circuit board and should never blow out. Unfortunately that makes it a little tough to do anything about its brightness.

Re:High Beam Indicator
Not that I've had the opportunity to experience the high beam indicator as here in Alaska it's still daylight at midnight, but I do know on my '03 Chevy, it was brighter than an Iraqi raid search light. The only way I was able to solve the problem was to use a small piece of window tint on the instrument panel....reduced the amount of light coming through and it made it alot more tolerable. I picked it up at Walmart for $6....then I had alot more than I needed but it worked well.

Re:High Beam Indicator
I know what you mean, fixed mine while installing fog lamp switch. simply pulled dash panal out and separated the front cover just enough to reach in with black marksalot permanant marker and touch the led light. it took about three to four touches to touches on the led to darken the light. very easy to do and well worth it if you drive at night alot.dimmed light about 50%,doesn't blind me anymore.
