help with train tracking

Finally got a rail car number out of D/C customer service

Went to the web site (www.uprr.com) and it shows the last update for the rail # (ttgx942264) as last week (march 6). The rep said my truck left the plant on the 7th - a day after the latest update. Don't tell me the rail guys are as bad as D/C on updates to their system ??? ???

Anyone have any help to offer ?

Re:help with train tracking

Not much help but when I was tracking mine I found the UPRR web site gave destination points and anticipated ETA's. I found that the ETA's were accurate. The railcar's location didn't update until a destination point was passed. When the rail car transfered to another system I lost the ability to track the rail car by internet and I had to resort to an 800 number. In any case I found either method yielded accurate information including delays.

Re:help with train tracking

You won't see it move until it gets back on UPRR's line. After that, you should be able to track it every few hours. If it changes lines, you will have to use that line's 800 number to find it.

They told me mine had shipped but it was another two days before the car started to move.

Have fun tracking it once it goes.

Re:help with train tracking

MisterKTM, your truck pulled into Pt. Laredo, TX

TTGX942264 Load Yes Arrived Ptlaredo, TX 03/13/03 22:30

Mine went through there a couple days ago. It is still in Texas. Union Pacific really takes its own sweet time! It went by Waco today and then just left Hodge, TX a few minutes ago which is near Abilene. It went a few miles today anyway.

Check out my thread on the shipping subject.

Now MrKTM's Ram is in Wagstaff Kansas. That's just outside Kansas City. Gettin' closer dude

Mine went through there a couple days ago. After KC it went to Marysville into Nebraska then to North Platte and now mine's in Cheyenne Wyo. Yours should follow the same route.

Vaughn
