Help with tires and rims.
Whats up guys? I'm trying to decide what rims and tires to get for my 05 Ram 2500. I dont tow anything very heavy. Usually just haul snowmobiles and fourwheelers around. I want to go with a little larger tire with 17 inch rims. I've been looking at the 285 and 295 Nitto terragrapplers with black or black and chrome rims. I would like to keep close to the factory back spacing and stance. My truck is two tone metallic grey and silver. What do u guys think? Thanks guys.

I like the two with that don't have the solid silver lip. If I was going that direction,I'd get the Ultra Goliaths. They're very similar to the two you posted,I just like them better.
Maybe look at them also.

Moto Metals will stick out a lot! Know someone that has them on their megacab and they still stick out a little with the Bushwacker Pocket Flares on there.
I have the XD Spys 17x8 with 5.2" backspacing and they require a fender flare or they stick out an inch or so. And they have a lot more backspace then most wheels.
Very very few wheels with close to the factory backspacing.
IMO, you need fender flares with almost every aftermaket wheel out there. Which is fine because I really like the look with the flares and tires outside of the bodyline.
Nothing looks worse then the newer chevys with the tires way inside the rear wheel well.

Thanks for your help guys. This is harder then I thought trying to choose. I dont mind if the tires stick out a little bit, but I dont want it to look funny. What is the back spacing on the factory rims?

Before making a wheel choice I'd recommend you check out tires I think there are more choices in 18". I could be wrong but if you're getting new wheeels anyway.......

I think youll be ok unles you go with a 10in wheel. I would also look at nitto's 305/70/17, I think they will fill the wheel wells in a little better than the others.
