Nice. Truck/set up...
looks like you could use a little higher ball mount to level the trailer a little bit more.(or some air bags) the leveler the trailer is the less tong weight you have.

I do not have any good pictures of my set up on this computer right now..
but If you did air bags you would not be sorry for sure.
height adjustable.and can make the ride Sooo nice.....all around great idea the air bags...

as you can see in this picture i needed to ad a little air when it was all loaded up.

Yours is set up like my 1T - top and bottom OLs. I'd wait til I had the $$ for bags. After I cut off the bottom OLs I thought about taking out the top OLs but I decided to leave them in there just for backup in case I ever had a bag problem but that hasn't happened in the 12 years I've been using them. The tubing idea is easy, but IMO Timbrens are easier to install. I have/had both.

As you can see from the first picture, there is no sag, even when hitched up and loaded up.

Oh well, I'll either go with the 2x2 square tubing or the torklifts.
It certainly looks like the hitch is 4-6" too low. The trailer frame should be level. Are you using a weight distribution hitch with that setup? I use an equalizer hitch with my 20' flatbed and it works very well. It might be overkill, but I already had it from my 1/2 ton truck.

Spacing the overload stops down doesn't seem like a proper solution to me. It will work, but it just seems hokey. I'd use airbags like others here have suggested. I really don't understand someone who won't spend a few hundred dollars to properly equip their $40K+ truck.

The only problem I see with that setup is the ball mount is a few inches too low. The truck is not squatting with the bed loaded down with all sorts of gear and the trailer hitched. You're not going to raise it with correctly installed air bags at that point. I'd get a different ball mount or maybe flip it upside down, depending on the variance involved if that's even doable and possibly install Timbrens for the clunking problem.

The picture is a little deceiving there guys. It doesn't look like it, but there was a slight grade there. The rig is basically level on level ground, truck and trailer. Look at the rainwater running under the truck to the low spot. That was just a picture I had on the computer.

And yes, I have a WD system with 1200# bars. I adjusted the hitch after trading the 2002 2500, which was about 2" higher in the rear than the 3500, and both trucks had stock suspension with stock 265 tires.

In the pic I posted of the rig hooked up, the bed was basically empty (it was on a short trip).

On equipping a $40k truck, I guess I am only looking to stop a clunking sound I get once or twice a year, and $600 for airbags that leak when it's -40* and are not required otherwise seems silly to me.

In any case, it appears I have found a used set of one of the products I posted in the OP to buy -- just working out the deal.

I really appreciate all the suggestions guys. thanks.
