My friend has a Ford 250 and all he did is pulled the seat belt behind the seat and click it in. Worked for him

Or you could just wear the seat belt. You do realize that without the belt when the airbag goes off it is much more likely to kill or seriously injure you than help.
I realize that in a farm or ranch situation it is impracticle to put the belt on everytime you get in to move a trailer, toss out another bail of hay etc. In that case just hook it behind the seat.

Do a search here at DTR for "seat belt dinger". It was also in my owners manual. Theres a sequence (for 2004) about turning key on and buckle, unbuckle 3 times in 5 or 10 seconds or something like that. I got it to work on my 2004.

The owners manual says how to do it.
