No they are D rated. But the weight capacity per tire is 3195lbs....same as the E rated BFG Rugged Trails that came on it. I usually run them around 60lbs all the time though.

Yeah, they were summits. I don't know about the BFG's. I'm sure that they have them. If you have a question, call the 800 number. They'll tell you what they have. I'm sure that you could still go with the 65's, they are only a little wider...

I am running them right now. Having a small balance issue, but I've only balanced them out once. Just save the reciept so when they are out of balance in a week, take it back to them. I'm not saying that this is an issue with every 35 BFG MT, but I got it on mine. They rub a little at full lock on stock rims, but not too bad.

I have 285/18's on my truck and they are wearing great. I don't tow or pull much so I run them at about 45 psi and seem to get decent mileage and wear. I actually rotate every oil change which for me is every 10k. Now I will tell you that if you're in some mud, DON'T STOP, if you stop you're stuck.

Quite interesting to see what people prefer in tires. Myself.. I've had great luck with BFG's on my 97 F350. I don't like the A/T's just because they pic up too many pebbles and toss them into the paint. The A/T's and Muds are the same carcass just a different tread pattern. Now the Crawlers, awesome looking tire but for competition only...very soft. I have run a 35" mud terrains under that truck and got around 50k from each set, one set was never balanced but handeled fine anyway. They handled rain, snow, dry pavement and sand very well. To each his own I guess. No I'm not a salesman

have 285-70-17 bfg ta/ko's on my truck- i have 52,000 miles on mine. i probably can squeeze another 2,000 miles out of them. this is my eight set of these tires. i have consistantly gotten 50,000 miles out of each set.
i have never heard of these tires only lasting 10,000 miles-never!! if that is the case- i am sure bf goodrich would like to know/see them. i am sure they will give you another set- since these tires are rated for 50,000 miles!!!

Yes I agree that it is excessive wear to have the tires burn up in 10,000. i think my nieghbor with the 285 BFGs is going to make 20K on his before they are toast... I did have a buddy with the 37x12.50 version of those BFGs last about 40K, but I figure that tires is only rotating less than the 285 so I would imagine that has something to do with it. And good luck trying to convince a tire company that their tire has not held up. Has any tried to do that?? Especially if you bought the tires from tire rack and mounted them with a different shop than you bought them from. Pulling has alot to do with wear, probably a reason some guys have gone with the hankooks on 19.5 inch rims.

Difference between the D and E rating is not the weight rating, it is sidewall flex. E rating have more sidewall strength (and I think Es have more plies but not sure?) and don't flex as much. Again, more important during pulling larger trailers.

i have the 285/70/17 bfg a/t's. i keep the pressure at 65 every time i go on a trip. i only have about 2000 miles on them so far. my truck and fifth wheel have a combined weight of 17050 lbs. the truck sees some good offroad use chasing buggies and trucks in the desert. i am pretty happy with the tires both on and offroad. so far no death wobble. skyjacker d25 springs and stock shocks, saving money for bilstein 5100's.....

My 285/70/17 BFG AT KOs have gone 37,000 miles and have 15-20,000 miles of tread left. I run 65psi(max) in all four and rotate at least every 7,500 miles. They also have alot of aired-down beach miles on them:

Except for doing burnouts, I have no idea how you could kill a set in 10,000 miles.

I have 285-7-17 BFG AT's with 31,000 miles on them. I have a friend with TOYO AT, same size with just under 16000 miles and they are shot. He might make 20,000 but I doubt it. See his post here: 01Bluemule https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...=160869&page=2
I was hoping to use Toyo 285-70-17E for my next tire. I need the extra weigh capacity but after watching his tires go away, I will buy Nitto's.

its worth a call to bf goodrich to see what they say. if i only got 10,000 miles out of them-keeping them properly inflated and rotated-you can bet i would be making some noise about it!
