Same problem with my truck. Open glovebox. Look for a metal rod that is connected to the upper blend door.

Either upper or lower blend door is broke.

Google heater treater.com for a fix without tearing the dash out.

I just replaced all my doors with metal. Heat runs me out of the truck now.

You have 1 or 2 broken blend doors causing your trouble.

Common thing to happen with our garbage hvac systems.

If you're going to do them all with the Heater Treater doors, do it right and drain the coolant and discharge/disconnect the A/C lines, remove the dash and HVAC unit, then replace all of the doors. I am not a fan of cutting into the HVAC box to avoid an extra 30 minutes (if that) of work. My write-up I mentioned earlier covers this exact procedure. Remember also, that if you don't have good heat now, you won't have cool A/C when the weather warms up either.

Learn here: http://www.heatertreater.net/Ram%2002-08%20Listing.html

Buy here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/combo...Q5fAccessories

Hope this helps.

In my experience, your doors are broken or stripped where the coupler engages the axle of the door. The actuator has to turn a greater amount before the coupler/door junction can engage each other enough to move the door into position. This is common and you should fix it. It could become a safety issue when you need to defrost the windshield but cannot.
